This appointment is for an IUD (coil) Fitting or Replacement ONLY.

We will not be able to see you if you have not booked the correct appointment.
Do NOT book a fitting appt if:
- You just need your IUD removing,
- Or You have complex medical or gynaecological problems eg fibroids
- Or You have had IUD complications, including previous difficult fittings
- Or You have had sex without using an effective method of contraception in the last 21 days
If there is any risk of pregnancy, then an IUD (coil) will not be fitted on the day. If you already have an IUD, please use a condom or avoid sex for at least one week before the appointment.
If you currently have a Mirena please note it can now be used as contraception for eight years.
You will need to visit your GP if you are not needing the IUC (coil) for contraception
Or you are 55yrs or older, or just using it as part of HRT.
Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment and allow up to 2 hours for the duration of your visit.

Please arrange childcare as our staff are unable to look after your children while you attend your appointment.
Walk in if you need emergency contraception
We have both male and female clinicians who examine. If you have a gender preference, please let reception know and we’ll do our best to accommodate, though this may lead to a slightly longer wait or rebooking at another site.
